UPCOMING: Getting ready for the ring – Reducing Reinforcement At some point every competitor in dog sports moves from training with reinforcement (food or toys) and has to begin working without food or toys. How can we use the science of behaviour to make this transition as seamless as possible? Is the “performance dip” we often experience in the ring something we just have to work through? The good news is: There is a way to reduce reinforcement and have a dog who is happy and willing to work even without cookies in your pocket. I’ll also speak specifically about lagging, forging and heeling. with Dawn Nagata MBA MA CTC KPA May 4th, 7:00 pm
